synopsis: the story of a guy who’s model material and a girl who wants to become a princess for him.. but unfortunately, kiri is taller than tooya, and does not have much for looks. (even her modeling agent mother says so.) when she finds out that her mother was employing tooya to model, she begs to be let along for the ride.. but she doesn’t have the right looks for a girl.. fortunately, she has looks that could pass for a gorgeous *guy*.
commentary: this story caught my attention, first, because it followed the gender-confused comedies that seem to be a theme for hana to yume in 2000. but it has a pretty different feel… with kiri *really* looking like a guy in drag in her school uniform.. (okay, even ito, from wjuliet, can look like a girl and tsukasa, from tcp, is actually doing it on purpose..)… even though this is my least favorite of the “gender-confused comedies” at present, that only puts it below five or so other titles.. it’s actually pretty interesting.. the way mutou-sensei draws up a fairy tale is actually pretty nice..
