Act 48 * BEAUTIFUL DAYS

Summary by: didi
"Aah.. It's that dream again..." Kazuma thinks. (As to which dream, I don't know... It seems to just be the city at night. When he wakes up the next morning, he's holding something close... or someone... It turns out to be Tsubasa-chan... ^^; Naturally enough, he freaks out. The narrative starts, the chapter is about Kazuma-chan told from his point of view... "I'm Shibahime Kazuma. This spring, I became a 2nd year high school student." (I believe that's equivalent to being a junior in high school in the US) "Mo---- You really shouldn't get into other people's futons, you know...."
"Geez, Kazuma-chan, don't be so stuffy," she tells him.
Narrate: "This is Shibahime Tsubasa, same age. We became siblings last year when our parents got remarried. She's my older sister."
"We're siblings, it should be alright. Here. I made breakfast just for you today, too, Kazuma-chan," and she proceeds to tell him about all the things she made for breakfast while he wows over them.
Narrate: "We're really close."
Narrate: "A dutiful father, Toshiharu-san, he's a children's clothes designer. He advertises youth brands, and they're really popular. They've been featured in magazines and TV performers wear them."
Narrate: "He's so cool!"
Narrate: "My mother, a tough person, who raised me by herself."
Both parents watch the two fussing and think, "Which ones are the newlyweds?"
Narrate: "I don't know how a guy like Toshiharu-san would end up with my mother but since it's Toshiharu-san, I'm not worried about leaving it up to my mother."
They leave for school and Tsubasa (who looks kinda like chibi chibi in this shot) suggets they climb Mt. Fuji, and Kazuma agrees to go next Sunday.
Narrate: "Ever since I was very young, I wanted to become an adult quickly. I always thought I had to support our household finances myself, but I'm not worried about that anymore. Everyday there was a peace that seemed to good to be true."
As Kazuma enters school, many students greet him good morning, and then there's talk about his band, which is receiving a lot of media attention. His attention seems to keep wandering in class, though, and he gets smacked in the head by a teacher, to his embarrassment. Later, as he's cleaning the classroom, a friend comes by with a magazine that talks about YinYang, and Kazuma's back to his reflections....
Narrate: ""Yin Yang" is a pretty famous band with its own merits in Indazion. I became an official member of the band last year. I wasn't very sound back then, my reports were bad, we were always so poor, and I didn't particularly stand out."
Narrate: ""YinYang" taught me to aspire to things to tears."
But while he's cleaning, he hears some noise outside and finds the other band members waiting for him. He asks them why they're there, to which they answer, "Don you want to see the sea?" Basically, they kidnap him as adoring fangirls watch on.. They ask if they can come, too, but Martin tells them, "It's a divine assembly for guys only. We can't take girls. Be good girls."
They drive off even though Kazuma protests and tells them that he has a test in the afternoon.. Instead, he gets backtalk that he's so stupid it would be the same if he didn't take it... Then he comments about how Martin is so popular with girls.. (Martin's the light-haired one with the glasses, the long hair, and the goatee... ^^; ) And then they talk about how he changes when he's on stage.... Kazuma starts thinking of a woman, and he bursts into laughter...
"Yosh. Let's do a song reminiscent of the beach," somebody mentions after they mess around for a while..
The guy with the long dark hair suggests, "Kazuma, sing a song about how fun it was today."
I guess they start composing as they drive away, and decide to title it, "Barefooted YinYang." ["suashi no yinyan"]
Later, when they come out for a "Live," they talk about what they're going to start with ("Steroid"? "Get Away"?) while their fans talk about them, commenting on how "hard" and "cool" and how "adult" Kazuma is... About how he gives a nice feeling when he breaks the balance...
The group comes out to sing "Barefooted YinYang", wearing Hawaiian-style outfits (well, that's how the crowd calls it.. they're wearing hawaiian shirts and pants and one's wearing a straw hat).. Everybody's really surprised, but they still seem pretty pleased.
We flash back to his quiet school life...
Narrate: "This is a normal day for me."
Narrate: "A safe, secure life. A close family. A peaceful student life. Having band activities."
Then we see him walking around the crowd.. Reminds me of those Eva stills when the crowd just keeps passing by disjointedly.. ^^;
Narrate: "But I wonder.. Sometimes I have this strange feeling. I haven't told anyone. When I laugh with everyone. When I'm commuting from school to a liberal profession. I couldn't hear the background sound. Somewhere my feelings are. Far away."
Narrate: "If I reflect on it, I get the feeling that time stands still, when it's really only been a few seconds, I feel like I'm going to be left alone last among my friends."
Narrate: "Your place isn't here. It's a voice from deep inside my soul. I don't understand this unpleasant feeling.."
"Oi, isn't that "YinYang's" Kazuma?" a passerby notes, as Kazuma enters a bookstore and notices someone else..
"Arima-kun!?"
They both blush as Kazuma notices that Arima is holding a YinYang CD... Arima admits that he doesn't know Indies very well, but he wanted to hear it once, at least... He heard they'd probably have some in a big CD shop...
Arima comments how nice it is that he's got a CD out.. Kazuma takes it from him and invites him to one of their "Live" performances one time.. Meanwhile, they're getting and odd look from the two guys who recognized Kazuma.. (What's with this "dokidoki"?)
They walk off through Shibuya and Kazuma inquires about Miyazawa, to which he responds, "Because I don't want to use your money, you can go on my time, too... I'll lend you the lecture notes and text, she said."
Narrate: "Arima-kun is Tsubasa's classmate. From the first time I've met him, I've been strangely charmed. It looks like Arima-kun thinks so, too."
Narrate: "I'm secretive around Arima-kun. It's as if I'm expressing this strange feeling. I think he understands. Arima-kun would understand my feelings. There isn't anything to say about having a guy who can see strange "auras". Sometimes I get a surge of music that I can voice from people... And Arima-kun's is exceptionally beautiful. A deep delicate gloss. I guess have some talent. I can make music." (Yeah, that spanned about 2 1/2 pages...)
When he gets home, Tsubasa immediately latches on to him, as usual..
"Tadaima," he calls out..
And here comes Tsubasa flying at his back, "Okaeri----- Wanna eat dinner? Or take a bath?"
Her father responds for him and says, "Eat."
Tsubasa's father's mind is already very active, though.. "After all... Kazuma and Tsubasa must be in love with each other after all.."
"Ka.. Kazuma-kun. Tsubasa's probably a bother always hanging on to you like that, huh..."
Kazuma: "Nah. I like cats."
To which both parents suddenly look triumphant and think, "Cats" at the same time... (I really don't get it... ^^; )
Narrate: "This is everything I have up 'til now. The surrounding world went through a big change, the monotonous peaceful days from before..."
Narrate: "I will know, soon, for some reason, what will be given these senses and this body, both thunderous, both in deep pain and great joy."
To be continued.......
