tonami takefumi
As a child, Tonami Takefumi was fat. ^^; However he was a rich fat kid... and to him, this was particularly important, as he totes this fact around, using it to gain him friends and influence. There was one girl, however, who wasn't very impressed... That would be Sakura Tsubaki, who was somewhat a bully..
Later when he transfers schools, he meets Arima Souichiro, another rich guy like himself... But he's intrigued that Arima doesn't use this to his advantage. Arima befriends him and helps him get through school. Impressed (I think), he decides to follow Arima's example.
After disappearing for a while, he transfers to Kanagawa Prefectural Hokuei High School (correct name, right?)... having transformed into a lean, good-looking, sporty guy. He sets out to do revenge on Sakura and resume his friendship with Arima. Miyazawa, sensing a kindred spirit in this guy out to do vengeance, befriends him. However, this threatens his position with Arima, whose dark side makes him insecure and jealous of other guys who seem to be getting close to his girlfriend. Not only that, but Sakura doesn't seem to be the same person who was tough and bullied him in elementary.. In fact, she seems so soft.
Later, in a moment of confusion, he kisses Sakura out of the blue, not knowing why. He questions his motives and when Sakura admits that she does like him, he realizes that he must like her, too. And that was why he was so intent in proving his new self to her. But he also realizes that Sakura is the same free spirit that she's always been, and that he'll never be able to completely hold her down.
